What's On in December 2008

  • Festival of Trees Edmonton. Hundreds of trees and festive decorations delight visitors of all ages. Surrounding the special displays are children's activities, live entertainment, shops with holiday treats and special gifts. The Festival of Trees is Edmonton's favorite Christmas event! The Festival of Trees is run by volunteers - at least 2,000 of them! 
     
  • Owen Sound's Festival of Northern Lights  - Capture the warmth and spirit of the holiday season as the festival celebrates with nine weeks of special events.
      
  • Ladysmith Festival of Lights  - Over 100,000 twinkling Christmas lights in streets, on roof tops and buildings with highlights including entertainment, fireworks, a visit from Santa and Kinsmen Parade.

  • 26 December (Friday) 2008 - Boxing Day
     
  • Bell Capital Cup  - Attracting more than 500 teams, this 8th annual ice hockey event is hoping to skate its way into the record books by attempting to become the new Guinness Book of World Records Holder as the world's largest hockey tournament.
      
  • 31 December (Wednesday) - New Years Eve
